We will expand our work and increase to a multi-tiered approach, so we are now beginning Phase Two of our PAC (Prevention, Awareness and Capacity Building) project in Vietnam. This one is called the Safe Space Initiative, to be implemented in multiple locations. We will:
- Continue community trainings in districts
We will continue prevention and awareness trainings focused on the specific needs of females to ensure sustainability from Phase I of the PAC project
- Increase the collaboration with multiple government agencies.
In Phase I, we had one partner organization. To complete our work for Phase II, we will continue working with DOLISA, but also work with Women’s Union, the Department of Education and the Youth Department
- Empower men to join the efforts
Trainings will be given specifically for men to increase awareness of social challenges and increase their capacity to be an integral part of the solutions. They will also have a specific role in the manual development of the Safe Space location.
- Increase our focus to stop the horrific impact on innocent children and students
We will partner with the Department of Education to train teachers on prevention and awareness measures, as well as victim identification. They will be able to implement these trainings in the classrooms and be equipped for victim response.
- Physical development of a SAFE SPACE location
SAFE SPACE is a physical space, which has been intentionally designated as “SAFE.” In this space, community leaders are able to continue offering trainings, workshops, and provide resources for those in need. This space will be created in partnership with all stakeholders and will be operated by the local community.
The desire of Hope Unending is to reduce the numbers of trafficked and exploited individuals, reduce the stigma of social ills and increase community responsibility for protection and recovery efforts. Hope Unending will participate in development but communities will have full involvement and “ownership.”
