Why we care:
Seen as one of the most rapid developing countries in South East Asia, Vietnam is a country of beauty and contrast. Sadly, Vietnam is considered a source country for trafficking in the region. Thousands of men, women, and children each year are trafficked outwards to other countries.
Hope Unending’s Role:
We believe that every person, regardless of where they are from and what their background may be, has value and worth. Our heart is that we will be able to impact both the top and grassroots level of communities, by empowering them with the necessary skills they need to fight these issues.
We believe in an approach that is 2 pronged:
- By working at the top level with government officials, we help train these individuals in best practices to understand the issues that stem from human trafficking and promote preventative measures that could be put in place to help stem the tide of future victims. Additionally, by working with community leaders across townships and government departments, we hope to create a sense of collaboration which would address many of the social issues communities face.
- At the grassroots level, we seek to work with community leaders and the local people by providing: education in awareness and prevention, victim identification, and support services. Our goal is come alongside local communities to help capacity build and train individuals. We believe that by walking alongside the local community and building their skill sets, they are able to reach further into the communities and the work that we do will be more impactful.
